Nicholas Kalinoski is an American born contemporary graphic artist.

Working within a series of layers and materials his work is akin to a palimpsest, all of which is derived from a central narrative - originally conceived as a way to depict experiences as abstraction through the eyes of a character.

'Memory plays  the major role in the conceptualization  of each piece, which is treated as a postcard for the memory.

Each life experience is edited down to a memory.

Each memory in turn is reduced to a primal emotion.

Each primal emotion has now been expanded into a graphic representation of a larger picture, on where the memory, the emotion and the image reflect the experience through the eyes of the narratives protagonist.

Memories are self created fiction.

We edit and boil down experiences usually to reflect the extreme side of a range of emotions that happen within a moment. '
